"Area's federal representatives stand strong with Bush on Iraq"

Mr Rangel:

While I realize, as reporter, you probably do not choose the headlines for the articles that you write, I urge you to have a talk with the editor who *did* select the above headline for your 7/13/07 report on area representatives' response to President Bush's refusal to examine or adjust his policies in Iraq. It is highly distorting reporting to use the phrase "stand strong", as if to imply editorially that those who disagree with this bullheaded Presidential insistence are somehow "not strong." Such bias should be confined to the A-J's editorial page, where it is well represented.

Albert Einstein defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." That would be at least as apposite a headline as the one chosen for your story.

Sincerely,

Dr Coyote
