In the "no sh*t, Sherlock" department...

Teachers raise their games when the quality of their colleagues improves, according to a new study offering some of the first evidence to document a “spillover effect” in teaching.
Really, genius? You just figure that out? That maybe rewarding excellent teachers might make everybody a better teacher?

Of course excellent colleagues make for overall improvement. Of course performance suffers when morale does.

Only corporate thinkers would believe that team members are replaceable irrespective their quality. Quality is expensive--but skimping on (or failing to reward) quality is more expensive.

Sheesh.

Dr. Smith, I couldn't agree more. I have some real life experience in this department where I'm working now. Teachers who's student have lower test scores, get additional money? hmmm...
