My mother's people summered in Maine in the 1930s and '40s, and my folks briefly owned a (principle) residence near Deer Island. When I was growing up in my own home town, my mom would refer to these kinds of conditions as "State of Maine weather." For a New Englander, it feels familiar and not at all unpleasant--'specially if you can hear the gulls.More below the jump.
